Shipping Coordinator* (On-Site)

Summary

The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating outbound shipments, managing logistics operations, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company policies. You will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and carriers to facilitate the smooth flow of goods from the manufacturing facility to the customer's destination. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Shipping Coordination

  • Coordinate outbound shipments, including scheduling pickups, preparing shipping documents, and ensuring accurate labeling and packaging of products.
  • Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to arrange transportation and optimize shipping routes.
  • Monitor shipment status, track deliveries, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and customers as needed.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, locations, and movement of goods.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely replenishment of stock and fulfillment of orders.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including hazardous materials handling, customs documentation, and transportation safety requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in shipping regulations and industry best practices and implement necessary updates to processes and procedures.

Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to quality standards and procedures related to shipping and handling of products.
  • Conduct inspections of outgoing shipments to verify compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Report any quality issues or non-conformances to appropriate personnel and participate in corrective action activities as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to optimize shipping processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and streamline workflows.
  • Participate in regular meetings and performance reviews to discuss operational metrics, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and Microsoft office.
  • Manufacturing Methods and Procedures Knowledge of ERP systems.

The employee must frequently grasp, lift and/or move items 10 pounds and occasionally grasp, lift and/or move items 20lbs

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Additional Information
The Salary Range for this position at Lief Labs is $21.00 - $24.00 Hourly (USD). Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, wellness benefits, education reimbursement program, and PTO.
