Payroll Coordinator (On-Site)

Summary

The Payroll Coordinator will oversee timecard and payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Responsible for handling payroll transactions, maintaining records, and addressing employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Work and process payroll in coordination with third party service to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
  • Process biweekly payroll, Commissions, Benefit Stipends, Bonus payouts and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and validate payroll data before submission
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll records, including wages, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll data and generate reports for management and audits.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Respond to employee payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with tax filings, year-end reporting, and audits.
  • Stay updated on payroll laws and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred).

Experience:

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Paylocity) and working with third party payroll service.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and deductions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in HRIS and financial reporting tools

Skills/ Abilities Problem Solving

  • Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile payroll data with high accuracy.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Planning & organizing
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information securely.
  • Ability to interact at all levels.
  • Flexibility/ adaptability/ multi-tasking

Work Environment

The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary.

Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly require talking, hear and grasp items.

The employee must frequently grasp, lift and/or move items over 10 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information
The Hourly Range for this position at Lief Labs is $28.98 - 32.24/hr (USD). Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, wellness benefits, education reimbursement program, and PTO.
