Senior Cost and Pricing Analyst (On-Site)

Summary

The Senior Cost & Pricing Analyst is a critical member of the Finance team, responsible for analyzing product costs, developing accurate and competitive pricing models, and ensuring profitability while maintaining strong financial oversight. This role will work closely with the internal Supply Chain team and Formulation Scientists to ensure accurate costing of customer RFQs (Requests for Quotes) and will be the key liaison for evaluating financial impacts. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of cost accounting, pricing strategies, and financial analysis, coupled with the ability to interpret and communicate how cost variables impact P&L, cash flow, and the balance sheet. Additionally, the individual must demonstrate strong business acumen and know when to escalate pricing concerns to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Analysis & RFQ Pricing
    • Analyze raw material, production, and operational costs to develop precise product cost models.
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Formulation Science teams to ensure accurate cost inputs.
    • Develop and maintain a robust RFQ pricing process to ensure timely and competitive quotes.
    • Identify cost fluctuations and their financial impact, escalating critical variances when necessary.
  • Pricing Strategy & Market Competitiveness
    • Conduct competitive market analysis to support pricing strategies.
    • Develop pricing models that align with business objectives, considering market conditions and profitability goals.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to optimize pricing structures.
    • Ensure pricing strategies aligns with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze gross margins, cost variances, and profitability metrics, providing insights to leadership.
    • Evaluate financial implications of pricing structures on P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet.
    • Support financial reporting enhancements by developing key cost and pricing analytics.
    • Identify opportunities to improve financial visibility and cost tracking.
  • Escalation & Decision Support
    • Quickly assess pricing risks and escalate complex costing scenarios to the CFO for review.
    • Provide recommendations on price adjustments to maintain profitability while remaining competitive.
    • Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making in pricing and cost management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in cost analysis, pricing strategy, and financial analysis, preferably in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, or other adjacent industry that focuses on valued based pricing.
  • Strong financial modeling experience and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems, costing models, and pricing analytics.
  • Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas) and familiarity with financial reporting tools.

Skills/ Abilities Problem Solving

  • Deep understanding of cost accounting principles and margin analysis.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to assess financial implications beyond basic cost analysis.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact across departments.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations (cGMP,FDA, ) related to product costing and pricing.
  • Experience using SAP, Oracle, or other similar ERP financial software.

Work Environment

The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary.

Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly require talking, hear and grasp items.

General office environment; this position requires sitting for extended periods, working with a computer, and occasional lifting of items up to 10 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information
The Salary Range for this position at Lief Labs is $85,000 - $95,000 (USD). Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, wellness benefits, education reimbursement program, and PTO.
